Haf. Korach (1 Samuel 11:14-12:22)

Join Beth Tikkun as we continue our study of the Haftarah portions for the 2013-14 Torah cycle. In the first half of the study we review Parshah Korach (Numbers 16-18) and in the second half we study the Haftorah portion. These two passages provide an honest and stark picture of our extraordinary blindness to God’s presence in the everyday events in our lives. We also analyze the grave error Israel made in prematurely requesting a king.

    Hi Grant,
We were looking at Korach yesterday morning at woking. One of the verses that has intrigued me over the years is Numbers 18 v 1……..my question being what is the guilt connected with the sanctuary and what is the guilt borne in connection with the priesthood?…..Gary reminded us of the use of the word wrath in Number 1 v 53 and Numbers 16 v 45 wondering if this was connected, and if it is, the thought/question was raised that if the Levites were a buffer between the Israelites and God is there a parrallel for us to understand/see be warned about given our calling and title ‘priest’? Wondered if you had any thoughts?
